Web Secretary’s Stuff

This section contains a how to for the web secretary and tips on how to run a good website.  It’s a complicated job to get to grips with the interface but putting the time in early on makes the whole thing run smoothly later and you have a cracking first point of contact for anyone interested in joining the club!

But first the golden rule:  You’ve just been elected, you have loads of exciting fresh ideas, and can’t wait to update the website or even give it a total revamp.

DON’T YOU FUCKING DARE

Deep breath…  It’s been known for the website to lie essentially dormant all year after a first few days edit makes  a hell of a mess.  Take your time, experiment on relatively unimportant pages, make a new one to play about on.  Just don’t for the love of god remove the login page from public view.  This happened.

I’m not saying don’t put in your ideas and make the website your own, but remember the most important thing is to have a basic functioning website, the bells and whistles come second.  So make sure you know what you’re doing before making a major edit!

Rant over.  The rest of this section will actually be useful.
